President's Message
Rachael Costello |
Hello and Welcome to the North Suburban Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NSAND)!
My name is Rachael Costello and I am excited to serve as the President of NSAND for the 2020-2021 term. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with an amazing and talented group of nutrition professionals and students. We have planned a full and engaging year of programming with diverse themes and current nutrition information.
We plan to offer 15 CEUs over the course of the year. This is an amazing value for all our members! Our Fall and Winter programming will be webinar-based, which will allow for some flexibility for our members with no need to leave the comfort of your couch while you enjoy the programming! We are also hoping to offer some virtual networking sessions as well to build our community at a time when it is difficult to meet in person. We are hopeful that our March and April meetings will be in-person, but as we are all too familiar with, that decision cannot be finalized at this time.
Our goal is to provide a variety of current topics that appeal to a diverse group of practitioners. Some of our topics for the 2020-2021 year include: bariatric nutrition, addressing implicit bias in dietetics, feeding patients with gastroparesis, achieving personal wellness in a stressful time, turning social media to your advantage and the many uses of honey/bee products, just to name a few! Our dues this year are reduced at $40 for RDs ($35 with registration before Oct 1), $25 for DTRs, $15 for students ($10 with registration before Oct 1), and $15 for retired Academy members. This is such a great value and investment in your professional growth!

We cannot wait to kick off the year in September with Updates in Bariatric Nutrition on September 16th, and we hope to see you all then!
To year of learning and growth-
