Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Dietetics
Welcome to the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAND) Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) page. This page was created to provide members with resources, tools, and information that support inclusive and equitable nutrition and dietetics practice.
The IDEA Committee's primary goal is to foster a more inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible environment for dietetics professionals throughout Illinois while supporting the Illinois Academy's commitment to advancing health and well-being for all communities.
Illinois Academy's IDEA Statement
The Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics aims to amplify the diverse voices of our profession. We support our community members by creating an environment that encompasses individuals from all backgrounds, ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, cultures, experiences, and abilities. We do this by increasing outreach to students to promote our profession, provide support to current dietetic students, strengthen connections between dietetics professionals, and strive to improve the well-being of all the communities we serve.
Member Interest Groups (MIGs)
Member Interest Groups (MIGs) are communities of Academy members who share common interests and experiences. Unlike dietetic practice groups or affiliates, MIGs are centered on interests, identities, and perspectives that extend beyond specific areas of dietetics practice or geographic location.
