The 15th of AV (TU B'AV)

Tu B’Av is a minor Jewish holiday that is sometimes referred to as “Jewish Valentine’s Day.”  The origins and significance of the holiday are somewhat unclear, but it is generally associated with love and matchmaking. In ancient times, young unmarried women would dress in white and dance in the fields, and young men would come to find wives. It is celebrated in Israel, and by many Jews around the world, as a day of romance, love and joy.  Tu B’Av is observed on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Av, which typically falls in late July or early August.
