Join the Conversation on the Academy’s Licensure Compact Exploration

Your participation is requested for the next step in the Academy’s exploration of the Dietitian Licensure Compact! 
Providing nutrition care services in multiple states, either in person or through telehealth, requires registered dietitian nutritionists to become licensed according to each state’s requirements, which can be time-consuming and costly. A potential solution to facilitate cost-effective interstate practice for licensed RDNs is a licensure compact. 
 
The Academy was selected through a competitive grant process for Department of Defense funding to work with the Council of State Governments’ National Center for Interstate Compacts on an interstate licensure compact for licensed dietitians. The mobility of licensed RDNs — particularly RDNs who are in the military or whose spouses are in the military — would help alleviate barriers to practice after relocating to a new state. 
 
All practitioners are invited to join a conversation hosted by the Academy and the Council of State Governments on next steps for this effort. Register today to learn more about how the Dietitian Licensure Compact would work, who can use it, the potential benefits to dietitians, and how you can get involved in the public comment period.
