Advocating for Enteral Success: Expect the Unexpected
This session equips dietitians with practical strategies for managing patients on enteral nutrition as they transition from hospital to home. Topics include discharge planning, patient and caregiver education, tube types and site care, managing complications, selecting formulas, modalities of feedings, insurance barriers, and unexpected home issues. Attendees will gain tools to enhance and fulfill the full RD scope of practice, optimize continuity of care, and improve adherence, while integrating evidence-based guidelines into home nutrition practice.

Learning Objectives: 1. Develop individualized home enteral nutrition care plans including formula selection, feeding schedules, and monitoring strategies. 2. Educate patients and caregivers on proper administration, troubleshooting, and complication management. 3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and adherence to best practices.
4. Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans based on monitoring data and evidence-based guidelines.
Speakers:
Jeanna Rich, RD, CSO, is a registered dietitian and board-certified specialist in oncology nutrition (CSO) with over 10 years of experience supporting patients across the cancer care continuum. She has developed and delivered numerous educational programs—including webinars, podcasts, and professional workshops—designed to advance oncology nutrition practice. Passionate about translating evidence-based guidelines into practical strategies, Jeanna collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life. She is a member of her local and state dietetic groups, as well as various Dietetic Practice Groups (DPGs), was recognized as Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by IAND, and is dedicated to empowering dietitians with the knowledge and tools to provide exceptional oncology care.
Gabrielle Haskell, MS, RD, is a registered dietitian with a master’s degree and extensive experience in oncology nutrition. She has worked across multiple levels of care—including inpatient and outpatient settings—managing diverse disease states and supporting patients throughout the cancer care continuum. Gabby is passionate about applying evidence-based nutrition strategies to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. She is an active member of her local RD group, serves as Vice President of CIAND, and was recognized as Young Dietitian of the Year by IAND, reflecting her leadership and contributions to advancing dietetic practice.
