Hello, and Welcome to the North Suburban Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NSAND)!
My name is Lynnette, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as NSAND’s president for 2017-2018. I have the pleasure of working alongside a dedicated, talented group of professionals – and the year ahead to look forward to! The program we have planned for you is not only informative but overflowing with thought-provoking and timely topics, trainings, workshops, and networking opportunities. This year, NSAND’s program offers you a whopping 20 CEUs! Our planning committee has chosen a vast range of topics that are sure to broaden your dietetic horizons while keeping you informed on emerging research, updates in nutrition therapy, and relevant training to take your career to the next level. Additionally, NSAND meetings provide time for networking so you can continue to build professional relationships. In the coldest months, January and February, our webinars allow you to earn CEU’s from the comfort of your home. This year, we’ve included a grocery store tour training, an interactive Motivational Interviewing workshop, a chocolate making class, an opportunity to volunteer with a local farm, and much more! The world of nutrition and dietetics is ever-shifting, growing, and improving. Be at the forefront of these changes! Your NSAND membership offers you the opportunity to become involved in your profession on a local level. Have ideas to share? We’d love to hear them! NSAND is always on the search for new ways to enhance our knowledge and skillset as dietitians. Who We Are: NSAND's membership consists of Registered Dietitians (RDs), Dietetic Technicians-Registered (DTRs), Dietetic Interns, and Nutrition & Dietetics students.
What We Do: The expertise, training and credentials that back these professionals are vital for promoting positive lifestyle choices. The majority of RDs and DTRs work with other health care professional to coordinate treatment and prevention of disease in a variety of settings. RDs and DTRs are food and nutrition experts, translating the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living.
