How to Contact your Legislator

Do address your legislator properly. Dear Honorable....

Do write legibly (handwritten letters are okay if they are readable).

Do be brief and to the point. Include the bill number if possible.

Do be sure to include your name, phone number and mailing address.

Do write when your legislator does something of which you approve.

Do you use your own words. Avoid form letters.

Do be polite and practical.

Do remember to thank your legislator.
