Tips for Contacting your Legislator:

• Address your legislator properly (e.g. Dear Honorable…)
  
• Type letters or write handwritten letters legibly
  
• Be brief and to the point, include the bill number if possible
  
• Include your name, phone number and mailing address
  
• Write when your legislator does something of which you approve
  
• Use your own words; avoid form letters
  
• Be polite and practical
  
• Remember to thank your legislator
