EIDA President's Message

Welcome to the EIDA website. I am glad you are visiting our webpage. If you are not yet a member of EIDA, I would like to invite you to join our district association. The registration fee is $20 for active members, $10 for retired members, and $5 for students. This is a small investment for the programs and social that we have planned for the spring. You can access the link to the registration form below, which includes the address to mail your application and required fee.
This association values input from our members so if you have any suggestions for programs, meeting locations, socials, or other suggestions please feel free to share that information with me. You can reach me at kjkennedyhagan@eiu.edu or 217-581-6353 (work).
During the spring you will have the opportunity to learn more about the Nutrition Care Process, including the creation of PES statements and ADIME chart notes. Attendance at the Spring IDA meeting and involvement in local National Nutrition Month activities is also encouraged. Members can also learn more about legislation and public policy issues by attending a panel discussion focused on knowledge gained from attending the ADA Public Policy Workshop in Washington DC. The 2nd Annual EIDA Student Research Forum will be held at Eastern Illinois University this year. You wont’ want o miss it! And finally, the last spring meeting will be a social, guaranteed to please all members that join us.
I would like to wrap up with a request for you to consider being actively involved in EIDA. The nominating committee will be looking for members to run for office. The time commitment is minimal and the rewards are plentiful. Please consider volunteering. I look forward to seeing you at a meeting this spring!
