Diabetes Science vs. Non-sense is a workshop designed specifically for clinical dietitians or other health care providers who work with diabetes patients . RDs can choose to attend either Oct 17 or Oct 18 or they can attend both days for a discounted registered fee.

Objectives:
After completing day 1, participants will be able to:
· Identify strategies based on the best available scientific evidence to guide patients
· Utilize patient’s blood glucose records to maximize MNT

After completing day 2, participants will be able to:
· Understand pharmacological therapies for type 1 and type 2 diabetes
• Apply problem solving strategies during patient encounters

Topics will also include:
Day 1: $139
· Myth busting: Examining the best available scientific evidence to common diabetes myths including:
- Weight gain on Insulin
- Dietary fat’s affect glucose
- Hypoglycemia treatment
- Alcohol, & others
· The RDs best friend: BG records and MNT
Day 2: $139
· Pharmacological therapies for type 1 and type 2 diabetes
-Diabetes Meds: Orals and Injectables
- Impact of Meds on MNT
· Behavior Change: The hardest step
-Using a simple method to help your patients achieve success
